Terms of service

These terms govern your company's use of Dowel, the software service provided by Dowel Systems ("Dowel", "we"). Your order form or proposal, signed by both of us, sets out your plan and fees and is part of these terms. By using Dowel, you accept them on behalf of your company.

1. Accounts and owners

Each company has one or more owners, who manage its plan, billing, domains and other owners from the account area on dowelsystems.com. Owners and administrators are responsible for who they give access to and for keeping sign-in details private.

2. Your data

Your company owns the data it puts into Dowel. You give us permission to host, copy and process it only as needed to provide the service, keep it secure and support you. You can export it at any time.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not use Dowel for anything unlawful, or to store data you have no right to hold.
• Do not try to reach another company's workspace, test our security without permission, or disrupt the service.
• Do not resell the service or copy it to build a competing product.

4. AI features

Dowel AI can make mistakes. Answers, insights and drafts are suggestions for a person to review. Nothing that spends money is done without a person's approval, and your team remains responsible for the decisions it makes.

5. Fees and invoices

Fees are set out in your order form or proposal and are invoiced as it describes. Invoices are due by the date shown on them. If an invoice stays unpaid long after its due date, we may suspend the service after telling your owners in advance.

6. Availability and support

We work to keep Dowel available and to fix problems quickly. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can. Support is provided as your plan describes; Dedicated plans include an uptime commitment in writing.

7. Confidentiality

Each of us keeps the other's confidential information private and uses it only for this agreement. Your data is your confidential information.

8. Ending the service

Either of us may end the service as your order form allows. When it ends, you can export your data for 30 days, after which we delete your workspace.

9. Warranties and liability

We provide Dowel with reasonable skill and care. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential losses. Each party's total liability is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months before the claim.

10. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [to be confirmed by counsel]. If we change them, we will tell owners in advance, and the changes apply from the next renewal unless you agree sooner. Questions:hello@dowelsystems.com.
